The residential school is currently looking for support workers to help the growing need. The school would like ideally to employ candidates who have worked in children's homes or within schools previously or have worked in the care sector.

The role will consist of supporting learners aged 6 – 18 in the residential setting as well as within school time. You will need to be able to keep firm boundaries and maintain good working relationships. You will become role models for these children and help nurture them into independent young adults. Qualifications in Residential Childcare, Childcare or equivalent are desirable but not essential.

The hours of work are during term time only and Monday to Friday. You would be required to sleep-in at least once a week.

The successful candidates are likely to demonstrate the following qualities:
• A good degree in a relevant experience
• Knowledge & Experience
• Experience of working with challenging behaviour
• A clear philosophy on how SEMH students can be taught.
• Subject knowledge sufficient to challenge students and achieve high outcomes
• Awareness of the strategies available for improving the achievements of students
• Familiarity with national strategies
• Recent relevant professional development

All candidates registering with Masterclass Education will need to obtain an Enhanced DBS if they don’t currently have one on the update service. We will also require any police checks from other countries if you have been there over a certain period of time.
