Our growing client is a successful Software company based in Cambridge and due to continued growth they are seeking an experience Network Security Engineer to join a a small team responsible for the continuous service delivery of SaaS services from data-centre facilities.

As the new Network Security Engineer you will take control of the management of large-scale, high-performance network deployments and the continuous development of these systems to keep pace with the latest technologies and best practices. These systems include routers, firewalls, load-balancers, firewalls, web-application firewalls. Hardware includes Juniper MX series routers, SRX firewalls, EX and QFX series switches.

Applicants shall be working with IDP/IPS deployment, continuous development and day-to-day operations as well as SIEM deployment and IPSec VPN deployment. You will have prior experience of SDN using OpenVswitch and OpenFlow and ideally PKI keymaster. On a day to day basis you will be experienced in ensuring systems are configured to achieve maximum uptime, performance and availability and be proactive in monitoring, alerting and trending of infrastructure

Skills and Experience (including qualifications):
• Exceptional Junos networking technical skills (JCNIE-SEC certification desirable)
• Deep understanding of IPv4 and IPv6 and routing protocols especially BGP
• IPSec VPN deployment and maintenance
• Network topology design and documentation
• VLANS, VXLAN, multicast routing
• Ability to fluently write scripts in either Perl or Python. Knowledge of shell scripting and related tools.
• In depth knowledge of TLS/SSL server certificates, client certificates, cipher suites and associated server hardening
• Full UK driving licence is essential

Desirable Skills:
• Familiarity with network monitoring systems
• Knowledge of load-balancing/content switching
• DNS
• DHCP
• RADIUS
• Comfortable with most aspects of Linux systems administration; for example, configuration of mail systems, system installation and configuration, fundamentals of security, installing third-party software
