The client:
Our client is a leading manufacturer supplying the major automotive OEMs and first tier companies. The business has benefitted from €multi-million investment and is well positioned for growth. As part of its continual drive for improvement, the company is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer

Role Purpose:
· Provides technical quality assistance and support to both customers and the in-house team to proactively eliminate rejects and investigate concerns contributing to robust corrective action fixes.
· Assists in increasing the quality awareness on site to drive a positive quality culture change.
· Facilitate the quality aspects of the product approval process during launch

Main Activities:
· Performs pro-active product, process and thematic audits to identify and eliminate risks before they become an issue.
· Analysis of failure to provide effective and timely corrective action and preventive action, responding to customer complaints, using such tools as 8D, QPR, 5 Why and PPS
· Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure the transfer of new products into production are in accordance with customer defined APQP processes, such as PPAP / PSW / AAR
· Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system and procedures on site.
· Evaluate production samples for conformance to specifications.
· Proactively visit customers and build strong working relationships with the appropriate key customer contacts.
· Assist with the ongoing development of internal systems and procedures to improve product quality and reduce costs within the business.
· Assist with overseeing the quality function on site offering guidance and awareness on quality tools to the QA team.
· Prepares reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising data; making recommendations for improvement.
· Work with production to solve customer / product issues as necessary.
· Maintain cleanliness of office by promoting a 5S Culture.
· Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with Customers, Suppliers and Internal Members.
· Assist with quality related training to build quality awareness.
· Support the Quality inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.
· Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as controlled documents, work instructions, quality forms, quality procedures
· Deputise for the Quality Manager as may be required.
· Other duties may be assigned, as required.

The profile

· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Automotive Industry with 3+ years in Quality Assurance.
· Professionally recognized Quality Engineering qualification.
· TS16949 Certified Auditor.
· Good knowledge of customer approval process and APQ
· Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice. Injection Moulding or Polymer industry experience would be a bonus.
· Customer oriented and service minded.
· Strong knowledge in Quality Management Systems applicable to the automotive industry.
· Capable of understanding and overcoming different cultural and language obstacles to provide solutions that satisfy corporate, regional and local objectives.
· Capable of analyzing data in order to support the development of strategies to effectively manage the action plans that will resolve the issues.
· Project Launch & APQP experience.
· Ability to communicate both written and orally, to all levels of management, customers and across different cultural backgrounds.
· Knowledge of international regulations for quality systems and compliance.
· Ability to identify problems, and initiate corrective actions and preventative actions.
· Perceptual and analytical problem solving relating to removal of obstacles.
· Setting of priorities and or facilities.
· Ability to use Quality Tools such as benchmarking, gap analysis, Pareto analysis, Fish-bone diagrams, and process mapping for fact based decision making.
· Excellent computer skills (Including, but not limited to: Windows, Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet)
· Excellent Communication skills.
· Work independently, and proactively.
· Good ISO / TS Quality System Knowledge.
· Ability to react to customer issues at short notice.
· Full UK recognised driving licence and willingness to travel at short notice.
