National company based in Washington are currently requiring a Die Maintenance Technician on a temp to perm contract, hours and salary are to be discussed.

Your role as a Die Maintenance Technician (Tool Rom) will be to work within a team of Engineer’s in-order to carry out regular audits of the department’s processes to improve all Press tooling, Plant Machinery and Processes to achieve production targets.

Safety & Environment
Take an active role in managing full Health and Safety awareness within the department ensuring that all activities are undertaken within the function meet Health & Safety requirements and legislation including workplace organisation working methods, equipment, machinery, environmental and housekeeping.
Confirm and adhere PPE requirements are understood and advise on any areas of improvement.
Identify any issues effecting safety & environment, communicate and resolve in a timely and appropriate manner.

Achievement of right first time quality within your role.
Advise, communicate and Introduce quality control systems to support all processes.
Undertake training and participate on quality review systems to ensure all processes and work methods comply with relevant quality requirements.

Management and Processes
Achieve Press Die related KPI’s
Provide full support and assistance with Machine safety checks.
Manage consumables used and report material shortages to ensure the effectiveness of the department.
Support and produce Kaizen activity plan and assist in supporting changes and improvements in department activities.
Work towards Standard SPM achievement and improvement.
Produce and conduct regular PPM / TPM Checks as per MKUK PPM / TPM Schedule.
Carry out diagnostic and repair activities as necessary of which will undertake the following criteria:
• To service and repair tooling
• To support new project tooling from commissioning stages through to start of production.
• To attend press breakdown, identify causes and problem solve at the press with minimal downtime.
• To take ownership of specific tools and maintain performance with minimal supervision.
• To improve and develop current and new project tooling
• Conduct analysis of reoccurring problems with the view of identifying areas of improvement and cost reduction.
• Work with or without drawings
• Ensure all tool history documentation is maintained.
• To manufacture tool and ancillary spares.
• Carry out machining, milling, turning, surface grinding, MIG/TIG welding and additional repairs which may include bench fitting, hand grinding trim edges and piercing.
• Show the ability towards being adaptable and flexible to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Undertake maintenance support duties within all MKUK production lines and processes.
• May be requested to undertake shift working and overtime working which may include week-end working at short notice.
• Attend customer and group sites with the view of assessing system improvements and understanding.
• Carry out duties with all other Maintenance and Engineering staff.
• Experience with progression / blanking and drawn dies and the maintenance of the same
