SEN Teaching Assistant - Teddington, Richmond-upon-Thames

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and resourceful SEN Teaching Assistant, with experience working with students of a varied age and ability range, to work with primary aged pupils with Autism.

CER are seeking an energetic and proactive Teaching Assistant for Special Educational Needs, who can develop strong working relationships with children with Autistic Spectrum Conditions. Our friendly primary school is based in the South West London borough of Richmond-upon-Thames, and tries to keep the ASC unit as inclusive and involved in the mainstream school life as possible. The school uses the behaviour analysis approach, ABA, and classes on average will hold between 6-10 pupils each.

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and resourceful SEN Teaching Assistant with experience of working with students of a varied age and ability range, within Primary stages. This is an ideal opportunity for an ABA Tutor, someone from a sport or psychology background, or an experienced TA to utilise their skill set and progress in their career within the SEN sector.

The ideal candidate will be a passionate and dedicated individual who wants to make a difference, who has the ability to differentiate their approach and provide an inclusive learning environment for students with additional needs. You must be proactive in your approach and able to use your own initiative.

We would particularly welcome applicants with the relevant skill set and experience in the following areas:

- A good understanding of Special Educational Needs, specifically Autism Spectrum Conditions
- Contact with ABA, or ABA trained
- P scales / P levels
- A patient attitude towards pupils with SEN
- Confident working with challenging behaviour
- Experience working in an SEN setting or personal experience supporting an individual with Autism
- Clear communication skills

Applicants with a background in Psychology, Youth Work, Support and Care Work, Sports are encouraged to apply, as there are many transferrable skills from these sectors.
