Business Analyst

The role of a Business Analyst is to carry out requirements management, process development and business change, across a number of concurrent projects.
The BA provides early stage and full lifecycle consultancy to senior business and project
stakeholders in order to help shape projects, establish feasibility and see them through to
delivery. This includes identification of project stakeholders, supporting definition of project scope and objectives and developing benefits to support the business case. As part of this process, the BA captures and manages business, functional and non-functional requirements and defines the as-is and to-be processes with multiple senior stakeholders. Driving business change is also a critical part of the role including management of working groups and ownership and delivery of the business change plan.

Responsibilities:
* Perform BA duties on small / medium sized projects as the sole BA, and/or support of work-packages of larger projects when reporting into a either a Senior or Principal BA.
* Support the Project Manager in identifying project stakeholders, defining the project scope and its business justification.
* Collect, analyse and gain approval for critical success factors and business requirements.
* Plan and lead workshops with stakeholders at all levels for requirements and business process capture and documentation.
* Develop and gain approval for system requirements (functional and non-functional).
* Responsible for ensuring change control and change management procedures are followed within the project team as they relate to requirements
* Quality assure design documentation to assure traceability to requirements.
* Support development teams, third party suppliers and test communities by acting as the voice of the customer on projects.
* Support the Project Manager through production of estimates for BA tasks, and through providing status reports for BA activities.
* Support continuous improvement through feedback on the existing processes.

In addition to the above responsibilities:
* Perform BA duties on medium to large projects, either as the sole BA, or through managing 1 or more BAs.
* With sufficient Business and methods knowledge and credibility to successfully negotiate requirements with multiple senior stakeholders.
* Articulate and represent the requirements during supplier selection activities.
* Develop business change strategies and plans including communications, training and benefits realisation.
* Support the project manager to meet delivery dates by assisting in the formulation and estimation of the BA tasks within the end-to-end project plan.
* Support continuous improvement through feedback on existing processes, and proactively proposing process and template improvements.
* Deep knowledge of 1 or more business or methods areas, so as able to offer coaching and guidance to other BAs, and to be able to develop standards documentation.
