Project Manager

A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join an expanding Main Contractor in the Yorkshire region.

Based from their Leeds office, but with a remit covering the Yorkshire region, projects will be within the gas network. This can include mechanical, pipelines, civil, E&I and control engineering projects.

With a long-term framework in the region already underway, our client is looking to grow their delivery to their client and has secured a place on their CAPEX construction framework.

This role will see you initially acting as Bid Manager, taking projects through the proposal phase before being accountable for delivery once awarded.

This is an excellent opportunity to get in at the beginning of this framework, playing a key role as the portfolio of projects develops. You will be working for an International Company that has a strong reputation in the delivery of engineering, project management, and asset management services to the gas, oil and energy sectors.

This position is part of our clients planned expansion and follows the successful hires last year for a long-term maintenance contract they are undertaking in the region.

Project Manager Specification:
• Ideally, Degree qualified in relevant Engineering discipline or similar
• Proven experience in the Utilities sector, gas is desirable but not essential,
• Previous experience working to NEC3 contract as a PM
• Prior experience in managing construction projects under CDM 2015
• Proven experience in managing project teams and subcontractors,
• Prior experience managing, leading and developing efficient teams,
• Excellent communication skills, and solid client facing experience

Project Manager Role:
During the proposals phase act as Bid Manager, producing project execution statement and producing a costing model.
During the project execution phase you will be responsible for:
• Leading the project delivery team.
• Managing Subcontractors.
• Producing project execution plans.
• Managing costs and project reporting,
• Change control, risk management and monitoring the project performance KPIs, and
• Ensuring compliance with company HSE policies.
