Are you an experienced teaching assistant who has been supporting male students with a range of needs including personal care? If so, Castles Education could help you find your next role within education.

Our client school in Lambeth, South East London are looking to recruit teaching assistants to work with their male students. These students are predominately on the autistic spectrum but can also have duel needs including, PMLD, MLD, medical needs and challenging behaviours. Most also do need assistance with personal care.

The school itself is a new formed SEND academy trust and is at the forefront of delivering excellent academic progress along with life skills and independent living. In their most recent OFSTED they were awarded a good grade and are looking forward to their next OFSTED as the team are pushing for an outstanding grade. There is a lot of good positive work happening at this school with the most recent introduction of a post 16 Life skills centre.

To be able to work within this school as a teaching assistant you will need the following:

• At least 6 months experience having supported secondary age and young people with mixed needs
• Able to commit to a long term role on a full time basis
• Hold a current and enhanced DBS registered onto the update service
• Additional training in Makaton, PECS, Team Teach, Manual Handling or Hoist training would be an advantage.

Pay for this role is between £60 and £75 a day depending on experience and training with potential to become a permanent role in the future.
