An exciting and rewarding opportunity for a learning support assistant to join a fantastic care provider who support young people with learning disabilities within a school setting. The young people have a range of learning disabilities and challenging behaviours so the successful candidate must have experience in both of these areas.

General Learner Support Assistant duties include:
Your overall responsibility is to ensure all students have equal opportunities to develop themselves academically. This will be achieved by promoting the importance of education and supporting the specific needs of the young people in the class room and at other group activities. You will promote self esteem and support the students in making informed decisions.
This role will also involve a level of personal care and you will need to support with physical interventions when necessary to ensure the safety of Learners and other staff. Training for this will be given.

You will be working in a challenging but highly rewarding environment and, in addition to supportive colleagues; the client seeks to support staff through the provision of occupational health services, health benefits, regular wellbeing events and a confidential counselling service. They also regularly organise quiz nights, parties and team building/fun events. They are passionate about the continuous development of their colleagues and have a robust performance review and development programme in place.

This is a term time only role Monday to Friday 8.30 - 4.30.
