Assystem are currently recruiting for a Planner to be based in Derby on a contract basis. The Planner will be based on our client's site in Derby reporting to the Lead Planner to assist in all planning duties.

Assystem are an engineering design consultancy who work on a number of projects that typically encompass the complete design life cycle from enquiry through to commissioning and handover of the final project requirements; many involving new and novel solutions to today's engineering problems.

Job Role
* Assist the Lead Planner in all planning duties across the CPC Regeneration Programme.
* Assist in the delivery of nuclear manufacturing facility at Derby from Construction through to Active Commissioning.
* For assigned work package(s), maintain schedule, expedite progress, resolve issues, update progress and communicate status to the project team.
* Key Duties
* Develop and maintain project schedules in accordance with the project and company processes and procedures.
* Ensure that correct scope of work is reflected in all schedules at the appropriate level.
* Integrate inter-discipline requirements to establish logical work sequences.
* Update schedule with progress to calculate performance metrics.
* Prepare schedule performance reports, forecasts and variance analysis.
* Prepare information for the monthly progress report and presentations where required
* Keep Work Package Owners (WPOs) and Project Managers (PMs) apprised of progress against baseline, latest forecast dates and any significant changes.
* Work with WPOs and PMs to identify and resolve schedule related issues.
* Develop recovery plans, recommendations and alternatives for mitigating the impact of schedule related issues.
* Cost and resource load schedules with latest forecast.
* Assess schedule impacts of pending change requests.
* Update Progress Measurement Baseline with approved changes.
* Manage Stakeholder where required, presenting the schedule status to interested parties.

* 3 -5 years of proven planning experience working in a team in a project environment.
* Experience of writing reports and communicating with project members of all levels.
* Sound knowledge of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office applications.
* Strong project planning competence (scope management, scheduling, resource management, budget allocation and control, earned value reporting and analysis, change control) gained in a range of project environments.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Security clearance:

Due to the nature of work to be undertaken applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance.
