Today we work with a broad range of commercial and industrial clients in the water treatment, quarrying, nuclear and waste recycling sectors.

We are currently looking for a Non-Working Mechanical Supervisor to work on a large project at Crossness Sewerage Treatment Works.

Main responsibilities of the role include:
• Produce method statements and risk assessments to ensure installation safe system of works and compliance with client requirements. Incorporating Health & Safety, legislation & Safe Systems of Work.
• To ensure personal health and safety and that of others in your charge and around you
• Managing the completion of site installation work ensuring work is on schedule and within budget , including:
• Liaise with Project Manager / Engineer & Site Manager to achieve goals identified in the project programme and lookahead.
• Liaison with site procurement Ordering materials and ensuring that the correct materials are on site when required
• Liaison with site procurement to ensure all tools and equipment are on site when required and hired plant is off hired as soon as it is finished with.
• Organising the labour requirement in advance of the installation and ensuring that the agreed labour is on site at the required time
• Environmental protection, minimisation of impact
• Undertaking briefings in conjunction with working supervisors on method statements, risk assessment, toolbox talks and any other briefings required.
• Attending site meetings as required
• Ensure work is carried out to specification
• Interpretation of site drawings and project information
• Liaising with other contractors
• Monitor and inspect the quality of work on site to ensure work is completed right the first time
• Reporting & investigation of accidents/incidents

Required skills, knowledge & experience:
• Supervisory experience in a mechanically biased role
• Water Industry/Industrial Background
• Full Driving License
• Approved JIB Status
• C&G Test & Inspection
• Appropriate City & Guilds trade Qualification where appropriate
• Emergency first aid or First Aider
• Punctuality and reliability
• Knowledge of health & safety legislation and company procedures
• Willingness to learn and undertake occupational and Health and Safety training
• Numeric and reading skills
• Prepared to take responsibility for self and others
• Good communication skills
• Able to work on own initiative
• Ability to give and take instruction
