Nursery Room Manager
£17,000-19,000 per annum (Dependent on experience & qualifications)

We are a well-established nursery school based in Southwark, & we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated Room Leader to help & support our dedicated team with caring for children aged 15 to 21 months.

You must hold a current DBS issued within a year, preferably registered online.

You must hold a recognized Level 3 Childcare qualification, e.g. Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce, NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development.

First Aid & safeguarding training is desirable

Purpose of role

As a Room Leader you will be responsible for the planning and delivery of the early years curriculum suitable to meet the children's individual needs.To implement the Early Years Foundation Stage and ensure all the children's individual needs are met and all areas of development are encouraged through play.
You must ensure a high standard of care and education for the children.
You will be required to support other personnel within your team and the Nursery School.

Key Requirements

Experience in leading & managing a team of staff is essential
Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS is essential
Knowledge of Ofsted guidelines and Welfare requirements is essential
A detailed understanding of Safeguarding and Child Protection is essential
Considerable relevant experience of the age range 3 months to 5 years.
Knowledge of the key person systems and record keeping
You must have the ability to build positive relationships with children and families
You will require the ability to communicate and work in partnership with families and carers
Strong teamwork and collaboration qualities
Good written and verbal skills for report writing, maintaining child records and providing feedback to parents/carers and colleagues
