Lydney, Gloucestershire
Welding & Dimensional Inspection of Fabricated Steel.

We are looking to recruit QC Auditor for an ongoing three month contract based in our clients manufacturing facility in Lydney, Gloucestershire.
Primary purpose of the position
* Conduct specific quality control inspection duties as detailed to ensure compliance with drawings, procedures, processes, customer requirements and applicable standards.
* Monitor product quality performance through inspection escalating Non-conformance as required.
* Support the company ethos that believes quality must form an integral part of the business.

Main responsibilities and duties of the position
* Complete product quality checks & assist with 1st offs to confirm that the components meet the requirement of the drawing (dimensionally and weld quality).
* Report non-conforming products to the line Manager, and raise the electronic NCR report.
* Assist with finding root causes and the introduction of corrective measures to prevent reoccurrence.
* Work with manufacturing to find best practice, avoid nonconformance and resolve any issues that have been identified.
* Contain any non-conforming products to ensure that they do not escape the works.
* Provide comprehensive, daily written reports following the completion of all inspections detailing findings.
* Support and participate in improvement initiatives in all areas.
* Actively promote a culture of constant improvement throughout the whole company.
* Ensure all Safety, Health and Environmental principles are followed.

Authority and accountability
Authorised to stop any process if there is a significant risk to safety, quality or damage to the environment.
Accountable for supporting quality management in accordance with ISO9001, ISO1090, ISO3834.

Education and training
A background of welding quality specification, interpretation of drawings, and interpretation of welding procedures is essential as well as knowledge of fabrication and welding techniques.
The ideal candidate will hold PCN Weld Inspector Level 1 (or equivalent)

Must be computer literate.

Experience
It is expected that the successful candidate will have at least 3 years fabrication and welding.
