Job Title: Senior EC&I Engineer
Location: Risley, Warrington
Employment type: Contract

Introduction:

Assystem seeking to recruit a Senior EC&I Engineer, to be based in Risley. As Senior EC&I Engineer
you will be instrumentation biased with an ability to develop process control panel schematics with a demonstrable knowledge of process instrumentation and an ability to work closely with Process Engineers, Mechanical engineers, PDMS and Civil Engineers to deliver an EC&I design.
You will be required to support EC&I Designers to develop panel schematics based on Sequence and Interlock Definition Documents (SIDD).

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
The role of a Senior EC&I Engineer is wide and will include:

* Develop Instrument Schedules, Block Cable Diagrams, and Instrument Data Sheets.
* Develop control panel schematic diagrams.
* Support the PDMS team in developing the 3D plant model.
* Develop schemes for Instrument Loop Drawings, Hook-Up Drawings, and Instrument Mounting Drawings.
* Perform all assigned work to agreed Safety, Health & Environmental standards and demonstrate a commitment to attaining high levels of HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) performance.
* Participate in and advise on all design activities and initiatives, including documentation review etc.
* Ensure that all designs are to required standards and that the project objectives are met. Ensure that the work is completed to the agreed schedule.
* Preparation of project instrument schedules, design, Including instrument sizing and selection, calculations and verification checks
* Assist Instrument designers with the preparation of instrumentation drawings.
* Provide guidance to PDMS engineers and other discipline engineers on Instrumentation engineering matters
* Proactive interaction with other disciplines to ensure overall project goals are met. Drive innovative solutions to reduce cost and schedule.
* Participate in relevant meetings, such as Model Reviews, Design reviews. Use suitable technology to increase efficiency.
* Support the Lead/Principal Control and Instrumentation Engineer and Management where required.
* Supervise junior Engineers/Apprentice's.

Key Skills:

* Produce designs (including control panels general arrangements layout diagrams schematic diagrams) documentation and calculations in support of project
* The ability to work from customer specifications with support from the Principal Engineer to ensure that the design meets the clients' requirements and is delivered on time and within budget
* Team leadership and technical leadership of a team of EC&I Engineers electrical engineers and designers
* To act as Lead Engineer on projects as required
* Assist the Project Manager in smooth running of the project with an understanding and accountability for times cost quality and deliverables
* Knowledge and application of European and International Standards
* Knowledge and application of EC&I best practice
* Preparation of high level technical documents required on the project. (Basis of design user requirement specifications design requirement specs design substantiation reports functional specifications etc.)
* Knowledge and application of Electromagnetic compatibility.

Desirable Skills:

* Minimum 5 years' experience of working within a highly regulated industry, 2 of which must have been gained within the nuclear industry.
* Proficient with AutoCAD (latest version preferred) / AutoCAD and AVEVA Instrumentation
* Developing Instrumentation Schedules, Instrument Data Sheets.
* Must have sound knowledge of process instrumentation.
* Must have a sound knowledge of electrical panel design processes.
* Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
* Preference is to have a P1 pass however, this is not mandatory.
* Familiar with Electrical design principles.
* Knowledge of Low Voltage Directive.
* Knowledge of Minimum Design Safety Principles

Qualifications

* Minimum qualification for this role is HNC in electrical engineering or equivalent qualification with a high emphasis on electrical engineering
* Preferred qualification for this role is HND in electrical engineering or equivalent qualification with a high emphasis on electrical engineering
