Purchasing Assistant / Buying Administrator

Our client are a heavy manufacturing company, operating for over 50 years, they are a leader in their field, and have extensive plans to develop the business in the coming years.

They are now recruiting for an experienced buying assistant or purchasing administrator to join their office team on a full time permanent basis.

This is a great opportunity for someone with some procurement or buying experience to take on a bigger role, but still retain support from experience colleagues.

The successful candidate will responsible for

- Identifying possible new suppliers
- Price checking new suppliers vs current suppliers
- Discussing prices for small and large orders
- Ordering and purchasing necessary components and materials for the manufacturing process, health and safety equipment, office supplies and additional sundries
- Ensuring appropriate levels of materials are available so as not to halt production
- Raising PO numbers

Being in the engineering and manufacturing sector, our clients are keen to hear from candidates with experience within this sector, but to be considered the primary criteria to have some buying and procurement experience especially researching new products and suppliers, price comparisons, and understanding the buying process.
