About the job:
Functional Skills Teacher required for a specialist Centre of Excellence based on the Essex/Herts border. Full-time Permanent and long-term contracts are available along with part-time work.

Due to the very complex needs of the students, there can be displays of challenging and disruptive behaviour therefore these qualities are imperative to the success of the class as a whole.
The class consists of 9 pupils and they are in the upper age range, 16 –19 yrs. They are following the National Curriculum and are also working on a City & Guild’s scheme. They attend a local farm for this one day per week, accompanied by the teacher and the support staff and they also carry out work experience in local charity shops.

Requirements:
The successful candidate will be required to plan and implement IEP’s accordingly. You will also be asked to collaboratively with multi-disciplinary colleagues towards delivering excellence.

QTS / QTLS / IFL Registration is essential.

The client would welcome applications from candidates who have a real strong empathy and understanding of working PMLD students.

The Client:
Our client is a Centre for Excellence catering for learners aged from 5-25 who suffer from MLD/SLD/PMLD/ADHD/ASC and other associated complex needs.

QTS or QTLS qualification is essential and experience of working with SEN learners is desirable. Full training and on-going CPD is available for all staff.
