JOB PURPOSE:

Facilitate the introduction of new SystmOne modules and other clinical systems across the Trust by:

* working with project team members to support the implementation of the newly defined and agreed business processes and clinical system usage as agreed within the various Projects within the Integrated Health Record Programme
* act as a Super User and IHR Champion across the Trust
* Part of a specialist team of multi skilled clinical systems professionals responsible and accountable for the service delivery and continual improvement of a fit for purpose customer focused IT Clinical Systems service.
* Ensure effective provision and communication of complex or sensitive system information, which may be complicated. Assess training requirements and provide system analysis, and support using verbal or written reports to system suppliers and IT Managers as appropriate.
* Provide specialist support and advice on project specification, requirements, implementation, and roll out across the organisation
* Provide specialist help desk functionality for Trust IT Clinical Systems and Smartcards, accurately logging and communicating issues and problems with system suppliers, the wider IT Clinical Systems Team and IT Managers.
* Undertake specialist Smartcard support and other Registration Authority functions for the Trust
* Interpret and communicate complex systems information and processes within the organisation and to external system suppliers.
* Create and promote an information culture through the development of new ways of working, and establish lasting relationships by working collaboratively and in partnership with the Clinical Directorates and external organisations as required
* Enhance productive working relationships with internal directorates and external organisations.
* Ensure service delivery and continual improvement of a fit for purpose IT Clinical Systems service with a strong customer focus. Develop customer relationships.
* Provide specialist support and advice on systems set up, configuration and use, to support all aspects of care, service planning and policy making.
* Collaborate on the planning and implementation of IT Clinical Systems Projects, which will involve taking leadership on agreed functions, some Project Support elements as required, and also playing an active role in the Go-Live support delivery as required.
* Analyse and interpret a range of systems and training information and data, and provide both verbal and written synopsis highlighting issues and options available for solution, examples would cover areas such as computer system errors, user or equipment problems, issues with the wider IT infrastructure or be able to trace and resolve errors in information reports
* Support the initiation and planning of detailed workload and activities required for Trust wide systems implementation, helping to plan and identify resources required to ensure delivery within required timescales, and propose service changes if required, which impact beyond own area, such as processes and procedures introduced or adapted using clinical system / IT equipment to facilitate this.
* Introduce and implement data validation and quality assurance systems and methodologies ensuring the integrity of all data or information produced by the service.
* Responsible for maintaining multiple IT clinical systems, including but not restricted to ICE, SystmOne Acute and SystmOne ED. This involves administering and maintaining the ICE access for external NHS trusts, and primary care users, as well as a regular requirement to develop or create information gathering tools for all our IT Clinical systems, including but not restricted to templates, forms and reports
* Play a supporting role in the performance of Audits - which will on occasion be complex in nature into Clinical IT Systems and smartcard usage as required
* Ensure effective information governance, implementing policies and procedures to deliver appropriate practice, and proposing changes to service policies.
* Ensure an efficient and effective system administration service, planning and organising workload, some of which are ongoing requirements, regular audits which may require adjustment due to variable workload and interruptions for ad-hoc / urgent support requests
* When applicable, ensure appropriate and robust testing of software patches, system upgrades and enhancements in advance of transfer to live system. An example of this is the routine SystmOne upgrade every 4 weeks which is reviewed beforehand, and relevant changes or additions highlighted by the review are then tested when system has been upgraded.
* Promote and embed a culture of continuous quality and service improvement.
* Work with the team to develop and maintain the Clinical System Change Management Process, ensuring that all requests are logged correctly, kept updated and managed in a timely manner.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A CONTRACT ROLE (6 MONTHS INITIALLY) BUT COULD BE EXTENDED, HOURS OF WORK ARE 34 PER WEEK.
