Seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant for a Primary/Secondary SEN school located in North London - ASAP starts - Temp to perm, long term contracts available! £60 - £85 per day!

SEN Teaching Assistants must:
** Have current DBS Children disclosure within 3 years of issue (preferably registered with the Online Update Service)
** Be able to travel to North London and be there for 8:30am
** Be proactive, show initiative at all times and have a firm but fair approach
** PECS/Makaton/BSL/Maybo/Team Teach or some form of restraint experience is preferred

The School - SEN Teaching Assistant
The role in within one of our most forward thinking, well facilitated SEN schools in North London. They have pupils aged 4-19 with a range of Special Educational Needs, predominantly Autism/Speech and Language Difficulties/Learning Difficulties amongst other complex needs. Some children have a 2:1 TA ratio if they require more support. Children with Special Needs come to this school from all over London, as the staff here provide exceptional support to each child. The school is dedicated in enforcing positive language with their students to boost progression and maximise potential. They have a strong, organised and dynamic team which offers a comfortable family environment. They are seeking a positive and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant who can ideally hit the ground running and need minimal support from the teachers and coordinators.

The Role - SEN Teaching Assistant
The role will consist of working in small groups or 1:1 with students all of which either have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or a Statement of Special Educational Needs. The role will require you to be hands on with a positive and energetic attitude. Having a caring and patient approach towards the children is essential as you are required to make them feel comfortable and gain a connection with you. The role would require the candidate to be comfortable dealing with personal care, including toileting and feeding and also with restraining students. As a SEN Teaching Assistant you would be supporting the emotional, social and academic development of the students you work with to optimize learning and maximise comfort.
