Spencer Clarke Group are recruiting on behalf of Lancashire County Council for Special Educational Needs and Disability Officers (SENDO’s) throughout Lancashire. There at 6 positions available in different locations across the county, including –

• North (Lancaster)
• South (Preston/Chorley)
• East (Burnley)

The SENDO role is an agile role, therefore candidates are supported if they wish to work remotely from time to time. However, the role is not fully remote, as attendance will be required in one of the three main SEND Offices (Lancaster, Preston or Burnley) a coupe of times a week to check in with their line manager.

As part of Lancashire County Council's response to the SEND Reforms, a challenging and exciting opportunity has arisen for temporary Special Educational Needs and Disability Officers to join Lancashire County Council's Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Integrated Assessment Team. There are 2 posts located in each of the North, South and East areas of the County. Candidates should express a preference but may be required to work in other areas. An attractive hourly rate is offered.

For this position, SEND / SEN experience is essential. Applications are encouraged from teachers, social workers, caseworkers and health professionals whom have SEND / SEN / EHCP experience.

You will also be expected to –

• Manage transfers of statements to EHC plans.
• Provide a key working role to children, young people (CYP) and their families who are undergoing an education, health and care assessment or have an education, health and care plan, across the 0 - 25 age range, including the management of complex cases.
• Provide key working functions that enable effective and efficient support to children, young people and families.
• Undertake the statutory integrated assessment processes within the statutory deadlines.
• Co-ordinate a person centred, outcome focused multi agency approach to assessment, planning and support ensuring that parents are treated as equal partners in the assessment and planning process.
• Provide effective and efficient commissioning of suitable educational provision and school placement for children with an EHC Plan, with a focus on accountability for outcomes.
