We are now looking for a Technician, to join our research and development team based in Basingstoke and play an integral role in the manufacture and test of prosthetic and orthotic products.

This is a fulfilling role for a proactive individual who thrives in a customer focussed manufacturing environment, where they manufacture specialist equipment precisely and effectively.

The role includes all aspects of manufacturing of Prostheses and Orthoses using composites as well as setting up test samples and providing specialist input from a technical perspective into the design and post design processes.

Additionally, as part of this technical role the successful applicant will work within the materials lab alongside materials engineers/designers and the test lab where samples are tested, helping the team develop new products.

Therefore, we very much welcome applications from experienced orthotic/ prosthetic technicians who are looking for a development step in a new, exciting opportunity.

It is essential that you are a practically minded, methodical individual, who thrives in a ‘hands on’ role, with excellent attention to detail. You’ll also need to be focused and flexible in your approach, with a strong focus on quality. You will be a reliable team worker with excellent communication skills and have the enthusiasm to learn and develop.

You will use these skills and experiences to:
• Manufacture Prosthetic Sockets using a wide range of materials
• Manufacture Prosthetic components using a wide range materials
• Design, produce and implement tests in accordance with test standards
• Interpret technical drawings for review and manufacture
• Contribute to the design and implementation of new products
• Facilitate project and task progression in a timely manner
• Maintain relevant inventory and produce documented evidence, based on tests and other tasks carried out for later reference.

The nature of the role is varied so the successful candidate will maintain high standards when working to varying deadlines and in different capacities. This is a permanent position and as standard the core working hours are 36.5 hours per week on Monday to Friday.
