Elevation Senior Finance are delighted to be partnering with a major PLC as they now seek to appoint a Shared Services Head of Finance to lead their centralised UK Financial function based in West Yorkshire. This is a rare and unique opportunity to join a market leader in their specialist field at a time of significant change and business growth. Key Responsibilities: -You will be responsible for delivering a first class financial reporting, control, planning and analysis function which contributes outstanding value to its key stakeholders -Report to and deputise for the UK Finance Shared Service Director. Strategy -Support the UK Financial Shared Services Director in the generation and implementation of the UK Finance shared service strategy with proactive engagement with the Business Units and Enabling departments. -Support the UK Financial Shared Services Director in in the ownership of the UK financial business processes, financial governance and organisational design of the shared service Financial Accounting and Reporting team. -Ensure shared service business processes are documented and supported by the group ERP solution. Business Unit Support (Financial Planning, Analysis and Reporting) In conjunction with the BU FD's and Finance Business Partners, accountable for providing financial data to meet Business Unit needs, to include: -Project related data (actual costs, value and cash position) -Project variance analysis (actual vs. Budget /previous forecast etc.) -Working capital analysis (debt, WIP, retentions etc.) -Actual overheads versus budget -BU P&L, balance sheet and cash flow, including variance analysis -Co-ordination and consolidation of Budgets on behalf of and in conjunction with BU's and Group Finance -Co-ordination and consolidation of monthly management accounts and management in-formation packs in conjunction with and on behalf of BU's -Provision of other ad hoc analysis and reporting as required Financial Accounting/Compliance and governance Accountability for the following processes, and associated compliance with HMRC reporting requirements: -Financial accounting / journal entry / TB -Fixed assets/CAPEX -Balance sheet reconciliations -Preparation of Insurance renewals in conjunction with BU's and Group Risk Director -Driving best practice and consistency in connection with the above Cash Management and reporting -Manages to UK wide cash minimums -Decision point for allocating cash for payment runs -Consolidation, review and challenge of BU Cashflow forecast submissions and reporting of same to Group Finance/Treasury UK legal entities -Support the coordination of legal entity trading structure with UK Financial Shared Services Director and Group Finance and Tax/Treasury -Preparation of UK subsidiary statutory accounts -Co-ordination of year end Audits of subsidiary legal entities in conjunction with BU FD's and Group Finance Policies and Governance -Ensure consistent application of the ISG Financial Accounting Policies and associated pro-cesses -Assist the UK Financial Shared Services Director in enforcing UK financial governance -Governance on bank mandates Taxation -Ensuring accurate, timely and compliant VAT reporting, working in close liaison with the Group Tax Manager -CITB/Apprenticeship levy compliance and reporting Systems -Custodian of ERP and Cognos systems -Champion for shared service system implementations, upgrades and rationalisation People -Line management responsibility for all UK finance shared services Reporting teams, re-sponsible for standardised role titles, grades and clear succession plans -Recruit, train, supervise, develop and performance manage team The successful candidate will require the following: -Fully qualified Accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) -Relevant post qualification as a Financial Controller, or shared service experience is an ad-vantage -Strong financial accounting knowledge (preparation of financial statements and corpora-tion tax calculations) -Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills - liaising with all levels from Board directors to Finance department processing team -Experience of managing and leading a team -Excellent organisational, time management and workload management skills -Computer literate - ability to grasp new accounting systems, Excel and Word Elevation Accountancy & Finance is a specialist division of Elevation Recruitment Group focusing on the recruitment of talented Accountancy and Finance professionals across all levels, from Ledger Clerks through to Financial Directors in Yorkshire and surrounding regions.
