Global impact Working with engineers from all over the world, you will help develop and implement integrated Vehicle, Powertrain and Infrastructure solutions to deliver Ford's Smart Mobility and Product Development strategies. Our graduate program You will progress through a series of placements, designed to help you build on the knowledge and skills you gained in your engineering degree. From day one, you will be doing a real role with real responsibilities. Over the course of the program, you will have the opportunity to develop in many areas, including some of the following: Engineering materials and design, powertrain performance, economy, control system design and emissions compliance Electrified Powertrain Engineering, hardware and software integration. Understanding customer requirements Digital Innovation, CAD, CAE and simulation Vehicle Electrical Engineering, hardware and software integration Testing, measurement, evaluation and verification Manufacturing technology and processes Team-building, people-management and presentation skills Body Engineering Chassis Engineering Quality management Vehicle Engineering Strategic Planning and Business Analysis Programme Management Where you will be based It's a global team, so you may be required to travel to any Ford location worldwide. However, our global centres of excellence for both commercial vehicles and powertrains are based in Dunton and Dagenham in South Essex. Our Dunton centre is at the forefront of developing Commercial Vehicles, including the five times International Van of the Year Award winner Transit, alongside Hybrid/Electrified powertrain, gasoline and diesel products that improve fuel economy while reducing CO2, and supporting Ford's Smart Mobility programs. Who we're looking for To be part of our future, you will: Typically have graduated within the last 2 years with a degree in applied Electrical, Electronic, Controls systems or Software Engineering, or Computer Sciences. You may have up to 2 years of business experience, that's in addition to work experience as a business placement or sandwich year in industry. Demonstrate the ability to quickly learn new technologies and concepts, and to deliver complex system-level solutions. Need to be able to communicate clearly in writing, over the phone and face to face Demonstrate strong team working and leadership skills.
