The Company
My client is a market leading foodservice company in the UK. The company has big plans for growth over the next 3-5 years. The roles we are recruiting for are Van Sales Representatives within the Foodservice Division of the business focussing on regions across London. In line with the growth plans comes succession planning, therefore the path for progression is very real and carries numerous opportunities for candidates with the right aspirations, talent and capabilities.
Principal Responsibilities of the Role:
The role of a Van Sales Person requires a confident and professional individual who can represent the Company, building sales on existing business, increasing sales volumes within your territory, and deliver a reliable customer service to the highest standard. The role also requires handling and rotating of stock, cash handling, waste management, weekly target adherence and basic account management.
Essential Skills/Experience we look for:
Must have a full clean driving licence to include a Category C1 (7.5 tonne) entitlement, and is advantageous if applicants hold or have undergone any training modules regarding the drivers Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
Must possess a high standard of personal hygiene.
Van Sales experience is a desirable quality, although we do consider candidates with equivalent sales experience in another field.
Hours of Work:
The hours for the position of Van Sales Person will vary, and our Sales People are expected to undertake those hours that are necessary for the proper performance of the duties assigned to them. This will necessitate, from time to time, attendance outside the normal business hours of the site on which our People are based. Due to the continual changes and developments within the business environment, hours may be varied to meet the needs of the business.
Daily Duties:

  • Pre-Route Planning
  • Undertake a vehicle walk around, identifying any defects
  • Undertake vehicle checks (oil, tyres, water, etc)
  • Undertake temperature checks of fridge and freezer
  • Undertake stock checks, highlighting any discrepancies


  • Route Planning
  • Temperature Sheets
  • Price lists / Promotion Information.

Salesperson KPI's

  • Customer Relations and Range Selling
  • Product/Pricing Knowledge
  • Driving Standards.
