Science Graduate Teaching Assistant Person Specification

This role would suit an industrious Science graduate who has a good understanding of how to work with children based on experience gained from a similar role and a strong academic record with a 2:2 or above in a science focused degree. You will have leadership qualities that will ensure you become a role model to the students you teach. Ideally, the school need a graduate who is able to exemplify enthusiasm and positivity as a result of their belief in and dedication to education. The school are hoping for a graduate who is able to adapt to new situations quickly and effectively, creating long lasting relationships with both their fellow colleagues and students.

About the Science Graduate Teaching Assistant Role

This Science Graduate Teaching Assistant role involves you supporting teaching and learning across the school. This varied role will sometimes have you working in new classroom settings, allowing you to refine your skills as you work with a range of different people. The school is overseen by an inspirational Head who has overseen a truly positive change in direction; this role will give you a superb opportunity to be a part of this exciting story. Your responsibilities will include helping teachers in a department that makes good use of its brand new facilities and other enviable resources. The teacher will rely on you to support groups of around 4-6 pupils in intervention classes outside of the classroom. Your department will have access to superb resources and equipment, yet perhaps its greatest asset is the exceptional Head of Science. The best candidates will be kept on in the School Direct scheme and it will be down to you to add interesting activities to lessons plans. In general, you will be assisting in one of the school's most popular departments and benefiting from the advice of you assigned mentor, who is also an accomplished Senior Teacher.
