Application Support Analyst, Software, SQL, Hardware, Windows Server

My client are a developer of leading CRM software and they are currently in need of an Application Support Analyst based in central Woking. Their product is a highly innovative web application that empowers businesses by enhancing customer experience. It’s a product that has taken well to the global market and as a result, the company is growing! They are now looking for a motivated Application Support Analyst to help support the business as they deliver this innovative product to a range of major FTSE 100 clients across multiple industries.

As the Application Support Analyst you gain valuable exposure to modern technologies such as SQL, Visual Basic and C#. The Application Support role will be responsible for the ongoing support of services to our clients.

The primary focus of the Application Support Analyst will be on supporting both Enterprise and Hosted web application products, assisting with software configuration, technical support of software and hardware issues and troubleshooting via phone, email or onsite visits. You will be a technically minded, hands-on individual, able to think on your feet, and solve problems with creative solutions.

The successful Application Support Analyst will be responsible for:

  • To provide technical support (1st and 2nd line) queries professionally and efficiently, maintaining a high degree of customer service;
  • To ensure that all SLA’s and escalation points are met;
  • To work effectively and productively with 3rd line support;
  • To take ownership of user problems, perform a technical diagnosis and fix the issue either remotely or on-site;
  • To document all calls on our call logging system;
  • To maintain user security on all systems;
  • Supporting users in the use of Computer equipment by providing necessary training and advice;
  • To arrange for external support visit whenever problems cannot be resolved in house;
  • Train users in our software via remote methods, or face to face;
  • Install and configure our products according to the client requirements and as per project plans;

Any of the following would be advantageous:

  • Application support experience (preferably web based software)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL (SQL scripts, and Stored Procedures and Databases) or another database system
  • Preferable to have knowledge Visual Basic or C# (capable of understanding code and identifying issues) or another programming language
  • Preferable have knowledge of IIS (configuration, sites, application pools, permissions)
  • Preferable to have knowledge of Windows Server and setup
