Our client is an established and progressive Provider of specialist high quality vocational and academic education within the engineering and digital sector. After the opening of a new forward-thinking campus, there is a need to expand their Engineering Department and therefore require a dedicated, passionate engineering practitioner to join this area during the next phase of its exciting development.

Job Role

Responsible to the Head of Department for the organisation, support and provide quality delivery of modules of learning and related learner support, within the Engineering section.


The Engineering Lecturer shall be responsible for providing a high quality learning environment that can complement the existing teaching unit. The lecturer will:

*Have a teaching commitment of 828 hours and provide staff cover where required
*Be responsible for preparing all learning material (including e-learning; current system is 'Moodle 2'), lesson plans, schemes of work, assignments to support high quality teaching and learning for all scheduled teaching.
*Undertake all necessary assessment of learners' work and examination preparation.
*Compile student reports and communicate effectively to parents where necessary.
*Attend and supervise educational visits and undertake all necessary risk assessment
*Be efficient in managing all data as required.
*Maintain CPD to a high standard.
*Transfer and share skills and knowledge to other team members through workshops or other staff development activities.
*Network with colleagues to promote best practice across the sector.
*Any other duties as required by the programme area manager or Head of Department that are commensurate with the grade.


*Have at least a Level 3 qualification in mechanical engineering
*Experience delivering PEO, NVQ and BTEC qualifications in both classroom and workshop environments.
*Hold Qualified Teacher Status

*5 weeks holiday + 5 additional Self Development days
