St. Edmund Campion Catholic School is an 11-18 Comprehensive School, with over 1000 pupils on roll, serving the Catholic community in the north of Birmingham.
We wish to appoint an innovative, creative and highly motivated Science specialist with a proven track record of success; a teacher who will inspire staff to further develop the Science Faculty as a Senior Teaching Learning Leader and to ensure that students achieve their full potential in a positive learning environment. Due to the strength of our department, and our commitment to a healthy work-life balance for all staff, we are able to consider flexible working for an outstanding teacher who may not be seeking a full time post.
This is an exciting new post created by the school as it aspires to even greater achievements. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating high quality teaching and learning throughout the faculty by further developing colleagues' skills professionally as well as contributing significantly to improving the development of a Science curriculum that meets the needs of all learners. You will be a forward thinking and innovative teacher of Science eager to play a key role in raising achievement and attainment within the department.
The department is serviced by three full time technicians, two science intervention co-ordinators and 12 science teachers. Courses are delivered across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 including A Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Applied Science. We require an inspirational individual who has a clear understanding of educational excellence, with the knowledge of how to lead a team to achieve this and initially move the department forward to support achievement across the school. This is an excellent opportunity for the right individual to make a difference to the practice of colleagues and the education of our young people.
The successful candidate will report to the Assistant Headteacher - Science and Stem.
