Project Manager - for a brand new Positive Behaviour Support Service. Our client is a friendly, local and thriving charity with an excellent reputation for providing high quality services to children and adults with learning disabilities and their families, in North London. They have an exciting opportunity for a motivated person who is committed to delivering high quality services, to manage a brand new bespoke supported living project for a young man with autism, mild learning disabilities and complex behaviours, moving to his own home for the first time in Barnet, North London. The role will involve coordinating and providing excellent and consistent person centred care and support for the tenant in all areas of day-to-day living, enabling him to live independently, develop new interests and attend exciting activities. You will be overseeing the development and implementation of care plans, positive behaviour support plans and risk assessments, designed to provide meaningful choice and a range of activities and support. You will also be responsible for encouraging a culture based on respect, dignity and consistent support, providing supervision and clear management to the team, as well as ensuring that the service meets legislative and organisational standards. Leading a team to maintain guidelines, positive communication and proactively respond to risk behaviours will be essential. The right candidate will be able to demonstrate a track record in motivating, managing and developing staff, alongside a clear understanding of leadership responsibilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are key, with an ability to respond cheerfully and keep a calm and low tone of voice in any emergency or adverse situations. Experience of supporting people with autism, behaviours that challenge and mental health needs is also crucial to this role. The successful candidate will be committed to maintaining quality and continuous improvement of the project, through dialogue with the service user, his family and advocates. The new project is due to open on 1st April, however, they would like the successful candidate to start as soon as possible, in order to help with the set-up of the project. They are looking for someone with a positive attitude and the ability to manage a varied workload, a willingness to learn and develop new skills, and work positively as part of a team. A full clean EU driving licence is essential for this role.
