A senior DevOps Engineer is required for a leading technology company in their modern Oxford offices. The DevOps Engineer will play a key role within our DevOps team and will be involved in working as part of a collaborative agile team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced operations environment and to develop your career in Cloud technologies, particularly Amazon Web Services.

The DevOps Engineer’s primary objective will be to provide support to Amazon Web Services hosted environment, ensure continuous 24/365 availability, working with 3rd Party resources to ensure best value for money, and effective resource management across the team.


The DevOps Engineer will be involved in:

The configuration, deployment and support of cloud based solutionsWork on the technical design, development, release and deployment of AWS infrastructure and applicationsThe DevOps Engineer will develop and improve the monitoring and infrastructure automationAn opportunity to create and maintain the systems that are involved in creation and maintenance of the systems that build, configure, deploy, and test our applicationsParticipate in the creation and maintenance of the systems that build, configure, deploy, and test our applicationsWork with the Support team to troubleshoot, diagnose and rectify system service issuesProviding 2nd/3rd level support for Cloud and DC hosted solutions

The DevOps Engineer will have experience with:

Working in complex Technology environmentsDeploying, configuring and supporting Linux & Windows systemsCarrying out 24 x 7 operational support of Public Cloud platforms e.g. Amazon Web Services, Microsoft AzureDeploying AWS Cloud infrastructure using (HashiCorp) Packer, Terraform, JenkinsUsing Version Control Systems (GIT, GitHub)Using Puppet & Docker for configuration management of Linux and Windows systemsConfiguring and troubleshooting interfaces to the following databases: Oracle, SQL, MySQL and/or Mongo DB, DynamoDbExperience using ELK – ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana as well as Tomcat and ApacheConfiguring and troubleshooting interfaces to the following network technologies: Load Balancers, Firewalls, Routing, DMZsPCI compliance, Enterprise Security, IT Service Management, Virtual Computing (VMWare)Working in Agile environments with Scrum or Kanban

The DevOps Engineer may have experience with:

AWS certifications, PRINCE2, ITILCloud migration activities either Public or PrivateA good understanding of release management techniques within a cloud hosted environment

This new role is based just outside of Oxford and is easily commutable from surrounding locations which include High Wycombe, Abingdon, Wantage, Oxford, Reading, Thame, Swindon, Newbury, Bicester, Buckingham and Milton Keynes!

This role is suitable for Systems Administrators, Systems Engineers, Solutions Architects, Cloud Engineers seeking to gain more experience with cloud technology.
