Technical Support Engineer
Technical Support Engineer required for my client based near Oxford for a permanent role, salary up to £30K.
My client are seeking a versatile Support Engineer to provide support to their user base.
The ideal candidate will have experience the following technologies:
· Thin and Fat clients
· Active Directory
· MS Operating systems
· Office - word / excel / outlook
· Any Cisco R&S desirable
Duties will include the following:
Providing second line technical support to internal customers, assisting them with hardware and application problevms by phone, email, and face to face. To escalate complex queries to the relevant team member or external support provider for resolution when necessary.
To provide assistance and support to the junior IT Analyst.
To support the IT Support Analyst in setting up and installing desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile devices, printers, and other hardware as required.
To manage the backup procedure ensuring that they are sufficient for disaster recovery and where possible, ensure that any third parties are checking the integrity of the backups.
To take responsibility for managing all desktop and server updates either directly or via a third party
To manage disaster recovery tests with third party suppliers
To be proactive at researching and advising the business of new technologies, providing advice and guidance on best practice and innovation.
