Manufacturing Process Engineer - New Product Engineer

A superb opportunity has arisen for an experienced New Product Development Process Engineer to join a well-established, highly successful specialist manufacturing firm based in Lydney. Following a significant period of growth, the business is now looking to invest in talent within their New Product team. As a Process Engineer you will be instrumental in the development of all new products, including tooling and production lines. Delivering consistent, high quality products will be second nature to you along with your ability to support key stakeholders across the business ensuring the project is a success across all levels.

What are the main responsibilities of the role?

  • Be responsible for process development and production-isation of all NPD projects, assisting with the design of new mould tools (using Solidworks) and the installation of new plant & equipment

  • Assist with new product development projects - hands on practical engineering and feedback to relevant parties

  • Create standard operating procedures and work instructions for new product development areas

  • Lead, project manage and track multiple cross-functional improvement projects to assure successful implementation

  • Inspection and the first off proving of new mould tools and responsibility for feedback to design and mould tool manufacture with relevant information

  • Diagnose non-conforming products and carry out process optimisation using pragmatic root cause analysis and testing

  • Assist with the costing of mould tool development

  • HND or Higher in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering

  • 5 years or more Manufacturing or Process Engineering Experience

  • 3D cad skills - ideally Solidworks

    What do you need to apply?

  • Good Interpersonal and negotiation skills

  • The ability to 'self-drive’ projects through to the end

  • The ability to work independently, using initiative and maintaining attention to detail

  • CAD experience (desirable)

  • An understanding of moulding and tool design (desirable)

  • The understanding of polyurethane processing or other plastics / rubbers (desirable)
