We are looking for an IT Security Analyst (Security, Administrator,Systemadministrator) to join our Service Management team within ExeterIT. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational running ofthe in-place security solutions designed to protect networks, computers,programs and data from attack, damage and prevent unauthorised access. Within this role, you will also be working in shift patterns to providesupport to cover the extended teaching day and events. The IT Security Analyst (Security, Administrator, Systemadministrator) Role: - You will actively implement IT security practices and solutions usingstandard methods and tools to ensure the confidentiality, integrity andavailability of the data throughout our University workstations,servers, handheld devices, and other systems. - You will have a responsibility for the identification, investigation,and resolution of security breaches. - Monitor the security operations centre, review and analyse logs,interpret the implications of problem activity, and prepare regulardetailed analysis and management reports with recommendations for improvement. - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the IT security industry includingawareness of new or revised security solutions, and the development ofnew cyber-attacks and threat vectors. - Maintain operational configurations of all security solutions andmonitor for efficient and appropriate operations. You will: - Have knowledge of technical infrastructure, networks, databases andsystems in relation to IT Security and IT Risk. - Have experience of administering IT security controls. - Be an excellent problem solver with the ability to take a pragmaticand positive approach to solving security related issues that may arise. - Educated at AS/A Level or equivalent and obtain an industry standardIT related certification or professional qualification including: Degreein Cyber Security, Risk Management IT frameworks, ISO 27000, MSCertified Systems Administrator - Security, CompTIA certification, GIACinformation security certification, CISSP Certified Information SystemsSecurity Professional, ECSA EC-Council Certified Security Analyst. - If you have experience with IPS/IDS and SIEM technologies that wouldbe desirable, but not essential!
