Support Worker / Key Worker – Supported Housing x 4 / Resident Well-Being / Hostel Worker including 1 x Arabic Speaker Luton and South Bedfordshire £18,000 - £24,000 per annum depending on skills 37 hours per week (including evenings / weekends as required) Our client prides themselves on being a great place to work, where everyone feels fairly treated and enjoys their work in a welcoming and friendly environment. They’re a not-for-profit housing association that has been providing affordable housing in Luton and South Bedfordshire since 1962. They currently have a fantastic opportunity for four individuals to help their hostel residents make the move to independent living. If you really want to make a difference for their residents then join their new team, known internally as Assistant Resident Coaches. They firmly believe in proactively supporting their residents to improve their lives and they want to coach them to realise their goals, moving from supported housing to an independent way of life. You’ll carry out assessments of new residents, devise and implement support plans and risk management plans; conduct regular coaching sessions and support the Resident Coaches, participating in group and one to one interventions with residents of a specialist nature (e.g. CT informed interventions, motivational interviewing or psycho educational group or harm minimisation interventions). You’ll also participate in reflective practice sessions with regards to supporting residents with complex needs;utilise your knowledge, skills and experience to recognise difficult or challenging resident situations, supporting colleagues to influence and bring about positive change to the residents’ behaviour, all whilst ensuring that residents are fully informed of their rights and responsibilities. The successful candidates will have a good understanding of the issues facing vulnerable people such as homelessness, well-being, support services and affordability. You will be self-motivated, and have excellent people skills, be IT literate and a capable decision maker and highly organised, enabling you to plan and prioritise effectively. Ideally, you will have evidence of community-based work / voluntary work and have experience in social care or housing-related sector. Due to the nature of the role, our client is seeking driven and forward thinking individuals who are qualified or would be prepared to study towards a relevant qualification. A full clean UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle for work purposes is desirable. Please note, this role will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
