We are looking for a dynamic Developer (Developer, Support, JavaScript,Oracle, SQL) to join our Solutions Delivery team in Exeter IT. You willbe in either the CAS team (Corporate & Academic Systems) or our DICEteam (Data Integrations & Collaborative Environments), to design,develop, implement and support the University's information systems,applications and platforms as part of a creative and customer focussed service. The Developer (Developer, Support, JavaScript, Oracle, SQL) role: - You will support the delivery of multi-functional and rapidapplication development using DevOps software development, as well as traditional Waterfall development,including the migration of legacy technologies onto new cloud-based platforms. - You will contribute to the delivery of large and small IT changes,including the development and deployment of new applications, platforms and digital services,building components, and programming. - Support delivery of multi-functional and rapid applicationdevelopment using DevOps software development. - We want you to undertake a broad variety of technical and operationalwork, sometimes complex and non-routine, ensuring development is running in a controlledenvironment as standard practice. - Contribute to the evaluation of new software products and digitalservices in support of developing the business case for change and procurement activities. You will: - Have knowledge of programming languages, web services or otherappropriate technical skills such as: HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript, Oracle SQL or Microsoft SQL. Experiencein configuring or working with suppliers of commercial off the shelf solutions. - Be able to demonstrate your previous work on projects and softwaredevelopment initiatives. - An understanding of software design principles. - Have the ability to communicate with a wide variety of audiences, asthe role will involve establishing relationships. - Ideally you will have experience of working in an Agile DevOps environment. - Be passionate about new IT and digital technologies, and promote andbe an advocate for the IT operating model and IT & Digital strategies. - You will be educated to AS/A Level or International Baccalaureatetrademark (IB), or proven equivalent experience and ideally also hold an Industry standard IT relatedcertification or professional qualification.
