Are you a Management Accounts Assistant / Accounts Assistant with experience of, or a strong interest in, working within the financial services sector? Are you keen to gain exposure to not only UK GAAP, but also accounting standards from many other countries including America, Spain, Italy and Luxembourg? Are you also keen to receive study support for your remaining ACCA / CIMA exams, greatly improve your month end reporting skills and have the opportunity for future progression? Based in the finance department of this medium sized financial services business, Your responsibilities will include: assisting with the preparation of management accounts across a group of 6 companies in multiple countries, including Spain, Luxembourg and Italy, assisting with the monthly reporting obligations to the US parent company, assisting with US GAAP accounts, completion of trend analysis, quarterly SEC reporting, NAV reconciliations to investor reporting, working closely with the Spanish reporting team to secure timely receipt of financial data to support the monthly reporting cycle, preparing schedules and reconciliations of key control accounts, Supporting the monthly review of various reports prepared by the external administrators, assisting with the external audit, assisting with corporate statutory accounts, Vat returns and other ad hoc duties as they arise.

To be considered for this new role you must possess a 2i degree or higher in a finance related subject from a red brick University. Ideally you will have relevant sector experience with an active interest in financial markets, including understanding of debt and other securities instruments. It is likely you will have between 2 and 5 years experience in a finance role, ideally with experience of most of the above duties (although training will be provided where necessary). You must have strong Excel and Sageline 50 skills. You must be able to work to tight deadlines, be able to liaise with key stakeholders on a regular basis, be a team player and be able to work on numerous projects at the same time. You may also be required to travel to Europe (Spain) from time to time.
