We have an exciting opportunity for a backend developer to join our central digital team at a time of significant change.
About the role
The British Red Cross help people in crisis; it's what we do. To help us do that better we're transforming how we use digital, embracing a more agile way of working to better enable us to deliver great digital products and services.
As Backend Developer your role is to support the British Red Cross in maintaining the integrity of its existing web estates and supporting the key digital products. The Backend Developer role is is key in delivering changes to our web estate as part of a small digital team.
About the team
Our in-house digital team is made up of product, research, analysis, design, delivery and development. We're responsible for the website and lead our digital transformation programme.
We have a blended development model, so you'll be working alongside in-house frontend as well as external development depending on the product.
About the person
With experience of working in a delivery focused cross-functional sprint team, candidates must have:
- Expert level skills in .NET (C#), SQL Server, MS Environments (IIS, Azure)
- Expert level knowledge of Sitecore
- Experience with automated unit testing frameworks and techniques
- Knowledge of modern web responsive design techniques and frameworks
- Awareness of Agile/Scrum principles and engineering practices
- Knowledge of product development life cycle
