£40,000 - £50,000 per annum depending on experience

We have an exciting new opportunity to join St Christopher’s Fellowship as the new Company Secretary and Head of Compliance.

St Christopher's is a leading charity for children and young people and we are proud of our history for providing fostering, children's homes and a range of innovative leaving care and homelessness services across the UK & Isle of Man.

As Company Secretary your role is to ensure regulatory requirements are met and to manage the delivery of Council of Trustees business for St Christopher's and its subsidiaries. Compliance responsibilities are for data protection, health and safety, complaints and quality assurance.

Key Aspect of the Role

  • To provide primary support to the Chair in the management of Council meetings and delivery of Council business for St Christopher's and its subsidiaries, ensuring Council papers are accurate, consistent and produced in a timely fashion and acting as the principal minute taker for the Council and Audit Committee.
  • To establish, implement and maintain GDPR compliant policies and procedures in respect of all client and staff records, marketing and fund-raising activities.
  • Provide monthly analysis of complaints and present to the Quality and Risk board, and on an annual basis to the Council of Trustees.
  • To ensure that high quality QA, which meet the regulatory requirements of the services, are carried out across our fostering, children’s homes and 16+ services in England and Isle of Man.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Experience of providing support to a Council / Committee – compiling the agenda, taking minutes and preparing associated papers
  • Experience of maintaining statutory records
  • The ability to write and present high quality reports and statistics accurately and to handle confidential information
  • Good working knowledge of Data Protection and H&S legislation and subject access requests
  • The ability to accurately assess changes in legal and regulatory requirements and apply in a business setting
