Fibre Planning Engineer

Up to £28,350 base plus car plus 10% bonus

London (Field based)

The mission
They are more than just an internet service provider; it also installs its own fibre infrastructure into multi-occupancy buildings, bringing the UK’s fastest internet speeds to users. Your mission will be to provide detailed site information to field operations and continued support to the new build Fibre Delivery team and Design Managers. You will carry out P2P/EAD surveys to assist the team in achieving day 1 connectivity.

Reporting Line
Reporting to the New Build Field Team Manager, you will support the sales team to meet our business plan


  • Proven experience of data cabling installations
  • Experience of working on a construction site under CDM Regulations
  • Experience in carrying out site surveys on construction sites
  • Experience in installing antennas on roof tops
  • Proven track record of on-site quality audits and data capture
  • Capable or working under pressure in a fast changing working environment
  • Experience in customer facing and attending meetings at all levels
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft word and Excel
  • Hold current CSCS card or have the ability to obtain

Responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Attend site meetings with customers/Clients
  • Carrying out on pit and duct site surveys
  • Liaising with on site management staff
  • Carrying out roof top surveys (line of site checks)
  • Installing roof top equipment
  • Confirm third party contractors are installing as per the design document
  • Provide accurate site updates/reports to senior management
  • Ability to resolve site issues with third party contractors
  • Provide support to third party contractors where needed
  • Support the Property team when required

Person specifications
(Essential and desirable):

  • Must have good PC skills and familiar with Microsoft office products
  • Must have good self-discipline and able to work alone
  • Will need to work to deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Knowledge of cabling practices for both fibre and copper
  • Confident and positive communicator
  • Awareness of cabling and installation products on the market
  • Ability to prioritise busy workloads
