Cloud Engineer - Cloud, AWS, Linux, UNIX Greater London

Our client, a software solutions expert are trying to source a permanent Cloud Engineer to join their exciting team on a permanent basis based near Kingston.

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + Benefits

Our client are looking for someone with strong AWS skills with a background in Linux/UNIX sysadmin. The core of the role is as a cloud engineer/site reliability engineer. Scripting skills would be essential, and ideally automation experience too. Any experience supporting SaaS solutions in a highly available environment is also a major plus. The role could suit someone who has evolved into cloud from a Linux/UNIX background.

As a Cloud Engineer you'll have the following technical skills and knowledge:

  • Strong AWS/Linux experience.
  • AWS Solutions knowledge (VPC, EC2 Cloudformation)
  • CI/CD Methodologies (Jenkins, Mavin, Git etc.)
  • Configuration management tools (Ansible, Boots)
  • Scripting Languages (Bash, Perl, Python)

As Cloud Engineer you'll have the following roles and responsibilities:

  • Provision and administer IaaS and PaaS using best practices.
  • Design, deploy and maintain the implementation of cloud solutions using AWS and underlying technologies.
  • Create automated approaches and scripts for system administration tasks where appropriate.
  • Develop clear, concise installations, configuration procedures and contributing to the maintenance and operational standards.
