aspire cambridge are currently recruiting for a Production Manager for our award winning client based in Witchford, Ely. As Production Manager your primary focus will be planning, coordination and control of manufacturing processes. You'll make sure goods and services are produced efficiently, in the correct amount, at the right cost and level of quality. Responsibilities and Accountabilities Main duties will include but are not limited to: Liaise with other departments to understand the business objectives, help develop and implement the strategies to achieve them Pro - actively identify opportunities for improvement and develop strategies to implement new ideas Support the Sales team by determining the Bill of Materials (BOM) and Routing's for new enquiries in a timely manner Work closely with the Sales team to align your production activities with available capacity and meeting the customers' needs Create production schedules, monitor the production processes and adjust schedules as needed in order to ensure deadlines are met Decide resource requirements, be responsible for the selection and maintenance of equipment and discuss changes with the management team in a constructive manner Managing and motivating staff to ensure targets are met Ensuring set and cycle times are consistently achieved and taking appropriate actions when required so that production is cost effective Setting and monitoring product quality standards, implementing quality control programs, promoting good practices including health and safety 'Keeping People Informed ' - Analyse production data , monitor both you and your teams KPI's and act upon them accordingly Provide management reports on production activities and performance during 1 - 2 - 1 reviews and management meetings Provide 1 - 2 - 1 reviews with each member in your team. Reflecting on each team members achievements, identifying areas for improvement and training needs, and action them accordingly Undertake additional training and learning to support you in this role Person Profile/Attributes Knowledge and experience of strategic planning Polite and professional with good internal and external communication skills Good time management and planning Able to work efficiently using own initiative Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and ability to prepare accurate reports Willingness to learn and understand internal software ProgressPlus and Afinitis Experience having worked within the engineering industry and able to interpret detailed engineering drawings Appreciation and understanding of other manufacturing processes for example Heat Treatment, Plating and Painting Knowledge of manufacturing quality standards and different types of metals and plastics Ability to work to deadlines and good problem solving skills Being positive and motivational, decisive and committed A good understanding of health and safety Start: ASAP Location: Cambridge, Cambridgeshire Hours: Full Time Salary: 40,000 to 50,000 negotiable Benefits: 25 Days Leave and 8 Bank Holidays, Christmas Closure, Pension Scheme, Childcare Vouchers, Free Parking, Cycle to Work Scheme If you are interested in this position, feel you have the relevant skills and would like to apply please call our team on 01223 855440 or apply online.
