We are looking for a Software Integration Engineer (Support, Testing)to join our Solutions Delivery team in Exeter IT. Your role will be tobe responsible for executing the Enterprise Architect's plan for theintegration of University systems including building, improving andmaintaining integrated services and ensure they meet business needs. You will be working alongside the Lead Software Integration Engineer,and you will contribute to the evaluation of new software products anddigital services in support of developing the business case for changeand procurement activities. The Software Integration Engineer (Support, Testing) role: - Contribute to the development of systems integration, including datatransformation and workflow, improvements or upgrades to existing interfaces, and ensure they arealigned with the Strategy & Architecture standards and principles. - You will be implementing a broad variety of technical and operationalwork, (sometimes complex and non-routine), using cross-platform andcontinuous integration applications and standard methodologies, you willbe ensuring development is managed in a controlled environment asstandard practice. - Support the Solutions Delivery teams on the integration of softwarecomponents and help ensure that the development of new software webservices and APIs for integration into existing University systems. Andyou will ensure these are being delivered to the requirements of the business. - You will support the Test & Release team by crafting andexecuting integration tests to ensure interfaces are being delivered tothe requirements of the business in a controlled and coordinated manner. - Accurately document software integration that describes logic,coding/configuration, testing requirements and other logical processes,and service support documentation for integrated systems. - Support delivery of multi-functional and rapid applicationdevelopment using DevOps software development and traditional Waterfalldevelopment, including the migration of legacy technologies onto newcloud-based platforms. You will: - Have knowledge of programming languages, web services or otherrelevant technical skills. - An understanding of software design principles. - Good methodical and analytical (qualitative and quantitative) andanalytical skills. - Have the ability to communicate with a wide variety of audiences, asthe role will involve establishing relationships. - Have experience of working in an Agile DevOps environment. - Experience of designing and implementing information systems,platforms and IT digital services, demonstrating working knowledge of appropriate theories and standard methodologies. - Understanding of Cloud technologies - Experience of Open Source and GitHub services - Be passionate about new IT and digital technologies, and promote andbe an advocate for the IT operating model and IT & Digital strategies. - You will hold a degree or equivalent and hold an Industry standard ITrelated certification or professional qualification.
