About The Role;

My client is a leading Infrastructure specialist with an annual turnover of £130M and a forward order book in the region of £750M.

They have recently been awarded a prestigious 5+ year contract to look after the Infrastructure assets in South East England.

The contracts will operate following the new asset support contract delivery model, which Highways England has decided to abandon in forthcoming procurement in favour of directly controlling maintenance work, employing designers and contractors under separate packages.

They are looking to appoint, on a permanent basis a Site Agent who will be responsible for

managing and supervising trunk road maintenance and improvement schemes up to £5M.

Primarily surfacing and pavement operations you will plan, organise and supervise construction works ensuring that they operate efficiently and meet all requirements In relation to health & safety, cost, productivity, quality, and the environment

Main Responsibilities

Implement the relevant requirements of the company’s Health, Safety and Environmental Procedures and Guidance.

Ensure that all plant and equipment deployed on the Network complies with current health and safety legislative requirements

Reporting all health and safety incidents involving the company and Supply Chain staff to the Network Team Managers

Ensure compliance with the company Environmental Management System with regard to day-to-day operational activities

Monitor scheme construction programmes, including resources, in liaison with IDT Managers and IDT construction leads.

Review the drawings and specification to identify errors and omissions and seek to resolve with the IDT Manager and Design Lead.

Supervise works on site and ensure all works are in accordance with the specification and to the contract drawings.

Conduct and record on-going interim physical measurements during works and upon works completion

Be fully conversant with contract conditions.

Maintain records, and use these to manage and control resources.

Communicate with the IDT Manager, the Construction Manager and the Commercial Manager issues of non-conformances and contractual correspondence . Ensure that comprehensive records are maintained.

Maintain records of work related discussions with the HA / design team.

Review and approve site documentation

Keep abreast of developments throughout the A-one+ business

Adherence to A-one+ policies and procedures

Perform the Watchman role

Any other tasks commensurate with the role


Degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant subject.

At least 5 years of experience of working with a Principal Civil Engineering Contractor.

CSCS Supervisory Card and SMSTS.

Experience of Highways and asset management would be advantageous.

Candidates must be able to prove their eligibility to work in the UK
