Job Title: Peripatetic Personal Advisor - Midlands

Responsible To: Performance Manager

Department Employability Division

Purpose: To manage a caseload of unemployed customers throughout their journey through effective learner engagement, IAG, placement and progression planning. To achieve start, placement and progression targets and ensure learners are safe.
To administer the programmes, completing all necessary paperwork to a compliant and quality standard and work closely with other Babington divisions to support Employability growth.

Key Responsibilities

•To engage with a local network of referral agencies to promote and advertise Babington Programmes, ensuring sufficient referrals to provision are made to meet monthly, quarterly and annual start targets.
•To maintain effective working relationships with internal teams to drive the integrated Employability and Skills agenda for customer engagement and progression.
•To provide thorough initial IAG to potential customers to ensure suitability and eligibility for programme.
•To complete all documentation to a high quality and ensuring compliance standards are achieved.
•To collate, present and share local labour market intelligence with the local delivery team to inform delivery plans.
•To engage with local employers to provide placement and progression opportunities for Babington customers.
•To provide IAG to customers throughout their programme, addressing pastoral and additional support needs as appropriate.
•To source, set up and manage work placements for customers.
•To act as the local Safeguarding Representative, ensure company processes are followed.
•To achieve monthly start, placement and progression targets as per delivery profiles.
•To manage customer attendance on work placements as per the company process.
•To act as the local community champion, ensuring Babington is represented and engaged with local community events and groups.
•To promote Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding and Health and Safety to learners at all times
•To ensure that all evidence meets the requirements of authenticity, consistency, validity, currency and sufficiency
•To attend training sessions to ensure continuous improvement in assessment practice
•To maintain professional standards at all times in line with internal capability, confidentiality, disciplinary and safeguarding policies and procedures
•Any other duty which, from time to time, may reasonably be required to meet the needs of the Group.

Skills and Experience

•Willing and able to work towards IAG L3
•Previous experience of providing IAG to a caseload of unemployed customer
•Proven experience of dealing with challenging clients with a wide variety of barriers.
•Experience of working to job outcome targets
•A working knowledge of local support agencies that can provide additional support to customers depending on their needs
•An adept communicator with the ability to persuade, influence and listen to others.
•Displaying strong motivational, customer service and organisational skills.
•Competent in the use of technology with excellent IT skills.
•In possession of demonstrable lateral thinking skills.
•Able to work under pressure, on own initiative and constantly seek to improve.
•Competent in completing paperwork to a high quality and compliant standard.

The post holder must maintain the confidentiality of information about clients, staff and other Babington Group stakeholders. Some work is of a confidential nature and information gained must not be communicated to other persons except in the recognised course of duty. The post holder must meet the requirements of the Data Protection Act at all times.
