Reporting to the Factory Manager this Quality and Process Engineer role will see you consolidating previously wide spread responsibilities into one role and ensuring that all stages of the production process are clear including accountabilities for waste reduction and quality improvement.

You will be tasked with reviewing the current status of the quality process then creating and implementing new systems ensuring robustness and maintainability. You must also be able to train other departments and ensure continued adherence.

1. Developing effective systems with Production / Operations / Manufacturing teams.
2. Leading daily and weekly site quality improvement meetings
3. Implement Supplier Agreements with raw material suppliers to set and maintain standards, service levels and continuous supply.
4. Reduce waste through Process Management and root cause analysis
5. In conjunction with the Commercial Operations Manager, benchmark, set and maintain quality standards for all products.
6. Recording, analysing and distributing statistical information.
8. Writing Management and Technical reports
9. Support the achievement of Third Party Accreditation and certification to ISO 9001/BSI kite marks.
10. Identify, document, and report any quality problems to Production management team
11. Perform random checks on all aspects of the pre-manufacture inspection process during and after production to meet quality requirements.
12. Maintain a safe work environment and follow all published/posted safety standards.
13. Ensuring that all Laboratory testing requirements and equipment used are maintained (calibrated) as required.


To be successful ion this role you will need at least 3 years relevant experience gained from within a manufacturing environment. Industry experience may be open but those with knowledge around concrete based products or heavy industry may have an advantage.
Relevant qualification would be preferred but not essential (i.e degree in Quality management).
In addition you will need:-

1. Experience of managing Quality targets
2. Strong analytical and problem solving skills
3. Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills
4. Working knowledge of six sigma and lean manufacturing are essential
5. Knowledge of production, process controls and quality tools
6. Ideally have experience of working to IS0:9001 quality standards
7. Internal auditing experience
8. Ability to think strategically
9. Customer service focused
10. Ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage time effectively
11. Practical aptitude and attention to detail


- Salary – Circa £35,000 p.a .
- Holidays - 25 Days + Bank Holidays
- Pension - Contributory; (TBC)
