Recruitment Officer - Leading Charity Retailer - Job Summary

Amazing opportunity for an experienced Retail Recruitment Consultant looking to make a move into their first in-house role or an internal recruitment professional looking for a fresh challenge. Our client - a leading charity retailer are looking for a recruitment professional to drive their volunteer recruitment across the wider business. The role has the option of being field based and looks for someone who has a proven record within recruitment as well as excellent organisational and inter-personal skills.

Recruitment Officer - Leading Charity Retailer - Role Responsibility

Identify, set up and evaluate effective channels for attracting direct candidates for key roles, continually assessing to ensure consistency in pipeline and maintaining appropriate cost per hire
Creating talent pools for key roles and locations to utilise quality applicants, providing a primary cost-effective pipeline
Identify and target various media to directly source candidates, either through networking, CV mining, head hunting or referrals
Promoting "refer a friend" and other such initiatives across the business
Identify opportunities for recruitment campaigns and events where volume in vacancies or roles exists and synergies can be captured through bulk recruitment activities
Advise on best practice for the recruitment for new stores, outlining timescales, planning activities and supporting where required
Utilising recruitment events and fayres to attract candidates and promote employer brand
Monitor candidate engagement throughout the selection process, identifying concerns and making recommendations for improvements
Advise, coach and support recruiting managers on policy, process and tools to ensure consistency in recruitment that adheres to best practice and is legally compliant
In conjunction with recruiting managers, identify the requirements of a vacancy to create an accurate and comprehensive brief
Utilise and develop the use of the "e recruitment" system to maximise management information outputs and build the talent bank, adhering to data protection guidelines
Communicate with external providers on requirements, performance levels and improvements required, driving continuous improvement
Collate feedback on the use and effectiveness of the current selection methods, making recommendations for improvements
Ensuring references are received and checked for all new management starters prior to mid-way review in the induction programme
Tracking and contacting new starters during the management induction programme to support smooth transition into the business and provide feedback on improvements to the programme
Administer and facilitate recruitment events including recruitment fairs and assessment centres
Administer and support recruitment campaigns to drive the pipeline of talent and build the talent bank, measuring results and making process enhancements
Collate and track recruitment spend to report actual spend against budget
Builds and maintains positive and pro-active working relationships with Retail Operations and Head Office built on credibility and results
Represents and enhances the recruitment and wider HR team positively, through impact and constructive business interaction
Operate within the Group HR team, aligning recruitment practices and activity within the group
In conjunction with the Head of Resourcing, conduct reviews with external providers and internal customers to measure performance and enhance departmental performance

Recruitment Officer - Leading Charity Retailer - The Ideal Candidate

Recruitment agency experience ideally gained within retail, leisure or hospitality - ideally with experience of recruiting for volunteers
Experience of sourcing candidates using various techniques, including job boards, CV mining, networking and making direct approaches
Strong influencing skills to promote a credible recruitment function when dealing with Heads of Department
Ability to deliver results in tight timescales
Full UK Driving Licence is essential
