We are working in partnership with a leading consultancy to the nuclear industry who require 2 x ROV Engineers. Ideally with experience of mechanical or EC&I disciplines working in nuclear or another highly regulated industry.

The ROV R&D Engineer EC&I / Mechanical is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of singular ROV Equipment, supporting the ROV element of operations, within production areas and during all client site based operations.

The ROV R&D Engineer is responsible for undertaking or complying with the following:

ROV Operations and Maintenance;
Health & Safety;
Quality;
Continuous Improvement.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

UVS Operations and Maintenance
Undertake unmanned vehicle operations within specified site based locations.
Undertake scheduled and breakdown maintenance within the specified site based locations.
Work with engineering teams to resolve technical, quality and schedule issues.

Health & Safety

Compliance with Itinerant Worker Procedure SP014 and all Client specific standards and procedures.
Compliance with Health & Safety policy.
Communicating H&S issues, including Near Misses and Accidents.
Adherence to RAMS and compliance with Safe Systems of Work.
Adherence to emergency arrangements for the site and work areas, including hazard awareness and PPE requirements.

Quality

Compliance with Quality policies and procedures.
Compliance with all relevant internal and external standards.
Adherence to all project operations and maintenance Quality Control matters including management of spares, consumables, PPE and T&S.

Continuous Improvement

Ongoing assessment of operations and maintenance processes and procedures to identify and support implementation of improvements.
Identifying and reporting new working methods, tooling or other systems that may improve efficiency.
Adherence to continual improvement initiatives such as visual management tools and toolbox talks.

Person Specification

40 Recorded hours of ROV Operations
Experience of Submersible and Terrestrial equipment including Experience of Hydraulic and Electrical Manipulators, and Long Reach Tooling.
Experience of maintenance of ROV equipment.
Understanding of Electrical, Hydraulic and Mechanical Systems.
Experience in an engineering and/or manufacturing environment.
Experience in a highly regulated industry and good knowledge of quality management systems.
Excellent interpersonal, organisational, time management and decision making skills.

Desirable Qualifications

Time served apprenticeship or equivalent / relevant experience as determined by role requirements.
IOSH Working Safely or equivalent.
Vehicle specific qualifications.
Tertiary qualification in a technical or related discipline.

Essential Experience:

Proven experience of ROV operation and maintenance related to projects in the nuclear or other highly regulated industry
