Full Time
Our client, a world leading Derby based Rail business, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electronic Maintenance Engineer or, to put it another way, an Electronics/Electrics expert with Mechanical experience, rather than the other way around.

The role requires a flexible attitude to travel as you will be working, at short notice, each month in Europe and further afield (3-5 days away at a time) and will travel once/week in the UK. Travel may not be required if operators can be talked through fixing faults over the phone.

The department's aim is preventative and predictive maintenance, rather than reactive, so 'buy in' to this philosophy is important.

The role primarily involves reactive maintenance as and when required, and occasional planned maintenance. There will be an initial training period of between 6-12 months before you will be working independently.

Successful candidates must possess the following:

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer background
Electronics experience - minimum 2 year's experience
Ultrasonics/NDT experience (ideal but not essential)
Ability to work independently using own initiative
Driving license
Work history in the Rail sector (ideal but not essential)
Excellent Safety Knowledge

In addition to a competitive salary, this role offers an outstanding opportunity to 'see the world' - you will also be provided with standard equipment such as mobile phone, laptop, expenses etc.

Initiative and a strong team ethic are crucial.

If you can commit to a role where extensive travel plays a key part, you must email your CV immediately - if you don't get a response within 7 working days assume that your application has been unsuccessful.

The interview process will be swift
