Contract - 12 months+

Description:
Project Background:
The project we are recruiting for is a mechanical handling facility to process and package waste.
The project is in the Manufacturing Design phase and shall require support throughout the remaining Manufacturing activities, associated FAT / CAT trials, Installation, Setting to Work technical support.

Qualifications & Experience:
Senior Mechanical Engineer: We are looking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the project team to support the Principal Mechanical Engineer for the following tasks:
* Answering technical issues (TQ's) as and when they arise within our sub contracts.
* Technical coordination of the space management model.
* Has a good knowledge of achievable manufacturing accuracy,
* Production of technical solutions to address issues as they arise - Manufacturing level of detail.
* Assistance in the coordination of all Mechanical deliverables.
* Attendance at, and support during, the Trial Build Phase and Integrated Works Testing of the facility.
* Attendance, as required for project meetings and support during the construction phase at site (South West).
* Lead and support younger designers in the production of technical deliverables.
* Support the Design Change process.
* Generation and presentation of technical solutions.
* Identify or respond to task variations through formal change control.
* Take responsibility for delivery of multi-discipline work package to programme, budget and required quality.
* Able to manage teams of Designers and Engineers and undertake checking of Mechanical deliverables.
* Have working knowledge and experience in applying relevant EH&S issues as required by legislation (and applicable Directives).
* Has presented at Designers Risk Assessments / Design Reviews and ideally at HAZOP studies.
The project shall require:
* Drive and determination to produce high quality Mechanical outputs / responses within demanding timescales.
* Mobility - The project has a number of contracts currently in place spread across the UK (typically in the North) with Trial Builds being undertaken in Yorkshire and Integrated Works Testing in the Midlands, and ultimately construction at site in the South West.
* A proactive, creative, problem solving approach to managing Technical Issues within the supply chain.
* Experienced INVENTOR user - Advantage
* Experience of NAVISWORKS - Advantage.
* Experience within the Nuclear Industry - Advantage but not essential.
* Ideally will have some 'hands on' experience.

* Contribute to the generation and presentation of technical solutions.
* Has a good knowledge of achievable manufacturing accuracy,
* Identify or respond to task variations through formal change control.

* Able to manage small teams of Designers in the production of Mechanical deliverables.
