Senior Technical Analyst, Basingstoke UK

The Senior Technical Analyst is responsible for performing and supervising the functional testing required for clients to obtain Payment Scheme certifications. You will have experience of working with Payment Scheme functional specifications and test plans. This includes using the relevant test tools, analyzing and validating test results and reporting to the customer and Payment Schemes. The Senior Technical Analyst can also participate in the development of test procedure documents, test specifications and test tools as well. You are also involved in innovative projects which result in more efficient work processes and new services added to our portfolio.

The Senior Technical Analyst has the following tasks and responsibilities.
• Technology – knowledge development, process design, improvements and optimizations; interpret, understand, and keep up to date with the functionalities and technical specifications of the products being verified;
• Test activities – use and configure test tools in the appropriate way, understand and follow test methodologies, clearly report communicate observations, verdicts and next actions;
• Analysis and problem solving – analyse findings and validate test results, pinpoint issues and communicate issues with client’s developers and product owners;
• Innovations – have an open and creative mind, be able to recognize new business opportunities, improve internal processes;
• Communication – align with clients and payment schemes like MasterCard, Visa, Amex and Discover;
• Teamwork – strong team player ensuring teamwork, guidance and coaching for junior technical analysts.
• Quality and integrity – ensure high quality and proper management of client products, deliverables, input documents and test results.
• Report in time, correctly and clearly to clients using UL Transaction Security templates
• Attend related training courses
• To undertake any ad hoc duties as may be required.
• Any other duties as defined in the UL Standards of Business Conduct and the Quality Control Manual.
Qualifications
You have a relevant technical Master or Bachelor degree which proves your analytical skills and technical approach. Examples are Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics;
• You have a minimum of 3 years relevant working experience, which includes:
• Software testing methodologies, compliance processes, test execution, technical analysis, reporting;
• Familiarity with contact and contactless card payment standards, such as EMV, ISO8583, MasterCard and Visa requirements.
• You have an innate sense of responsibility, accuracy and you are attentive to detail;
• You can work independently to a deadline and you are capable to run your work efficiently;
• You have good spoken and written English language skills. Please note that another foreign language is a plus;
• You are flexible to travel and – optionally – willing to work from client location;
• You are challenged by and succeed in achieving predefined measurable personal and project goals;
• You are self-motivated, proactive and flexible to adapt to different scenarios.
• Experience with software programming language(s) is a plus; it is not a requirement for this vacancy.
