My client is a multi award-winning Events and Publications organisation, who are known in the industry as “highly desirable” to work for! They have some fantastic products and work across some of the UK’s most exciting portfolios! As a result of their continued success and development, boasting growth each year across their events, are now recruiting for an experienced Marketing Manager, (who ideally has a background in Subscriptions) to work across this varied yet intriguing portfolio!

Purpose of the role
The Subscriptions Marketing Manager will be responsible for planning, implementing and managing best practice across a series of brands within the portfolio. You will generate leads for Marketing Solutions across the brands. As well as this previous experience managing staff is preferred as you will be managing two Marketing Executive’s on a daily basis. Within this role, you will work very closely with the sales and research departments on product development and client relationship building.

Subscriptions Marketing Manager Competencies:

- Must have a minimum of two years’ direct marketing, campaign management and digital marketing experience – subscriptions marketing experience is desired
- Preferably you will be degree educated or have an equivalent marketing diploma
- Proven experience of developing and managing strategic plans and budget
- Management experience as you will be managing two Event Marketing Executives
- In-depth understanding of web analytics (Webtrends, Google Analytics or equivalent packages)
- Excellent understanding of online audiences’ behaviour, needs and changing trends
- Able to work to challenging targets within tight timeframes, able to prioritise and set clear, achievable goals
- Ability to spot opportunities and transform ideas into practical reality and review existing challenges and generate fresh solutions
- Enthusiastic, ready to get involved and drive results
- Promoting best practice

Subscriptions Marketing Manager Key Accountabilities:

- Develop and implement multichannel marketing strategies to hit commercial targets for the subscriptions, events and advertising revenue streams
- Set targets and report on KPIs (including channel ROI, customer lifetime value, cost per acquisition and retention rates)
- Produce financial reports and forecast future performance for senior management and make recommendations for improvement
- Manage the ecommerce funnel on the website and test the customer journey (site navigation, registration form etc) to constantly improve conversion rates
- Allocate and control budgets, ensuring all costs are monitored and accurately recorded
- Manage a senior marketing executive and marketing executive, as well as external agencies and partners, to ensure all activity is delivered on time
- Be the point of escalation for customer services and work closely with the team to ensure all complaints and enquiries are dealt with efficiently
- Build email automation campaigns (including onboarding and renewal series’) and run tests to improve engagement
- Write copy and brief designers on brand collateral (direct mail, print adverts, web banners, email templates, brochures, long forms) and ensure it remains consistent
- Lead data mapping, persona and customer journey projects to gain a better understanding of the customers and collect testimonials to use across brand collateral
- Use insight from customer research to look for opportunities to drive subscription acquisition and retention rates, as well as identify opportunities to cross-sell other revenue streams
- Use live events, social media, PPC and banners to collect new prospect data and grow the database
- Negotiate and fulfil contra deals with partners to drive acquisitions
